Contemporary Heritage: Transforming Culture and Heritage into Contemporary Product Design By Faty Ly & Dr. Asmer Abdullayeva

In this two-day workshop, international experts Faty Ly and Dr. Asmer Abdullayeva will explore innovative ways to incorporate culture and heritage into your designs. Faty Ly will share her experience as the founder of Fatyly Brand for culinary and decorative designs inspired by her culture in Africa, and how to internationalize a local-inspired piece. Dr. Abdullayeva will discuss general tools for design creation and transformation. Participants should end up the workshop having a mock-up design revised by the experts.

About the designers:
Faty ly: Founder of Fatyly Brand for culinary and decorative designs, based in Dakar – Senegal, her works mainly sold in Dakar, Lagos, Abidjan and New York. Known for her innovative use of local cultural inspirations from Senegal.
Dr. Asmer Abdullayeva: International Expert, Art Critic – Azerbaijan. Director of “Sabah” group Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, Baku (Azerbaijan), Founder and Director of “ASMART” Creative HUB, Baku.
